Its time to get out your glam rags and celebrate the excesses and wild haired sins of the glam rock era, come as your favourite dead glam rock star, prizes for best dressed glamster.

Rock n Roll away the stone, glam has risen again as we explore the rise and fall of an unknown glam rock star plus incredible musical guests!

With your host Granny Glitter (no relation) and surprise glam guests we’re gonna party like there’s no tomorrow because there is no tomorrow!

It’s a glam slam wam bam thank you mam!

novposterv08-copy1.jpgFor Voodoo Vaudeville virgins it’s like this: a cool, cabaret night of slightly surreal, brilliantly bizarre and macabre mix of circus-style, theatrical and music hall treats.

This company has a cult following and it’s as easy as black cherry pie to see why.

Themed on the ‘clowns of the apocalypse’, the show saw everything from burlesque to Bee Gees tributes tinged with gothic eroticism, and a spellbinding performance from the eerie Sawchestra.

And who will ever forget Baby Warhol – the smooth, Barry White-toned, hand puppet and self-proclaimed guru perched on a picture frame?

Voodoo Vaudeville: wickedly phantastic.

celebrating the arrival of the new vaudeville.

“Back in the 20th century, vaudeville was drowned out by TV. Now we love good old-fashioned sword swallowing and snake charming

When the burlesque revival began in the mid-1990s, it just took one woman and an over-sized martini glass to bring nipple tassels to the forefront of mainstream consciousness. The world was soon awash with burlesque classes and tournaments - to the point where I recently found myself having to learn the subtle art of seduction at a Lambrini-infused hen party which involved lots of basques and feather boas. More Bet Gilroy than Bettie Page, though.

As burlesque has become more commercialised than a WAG’s wedding, it seems audiences are looking for something new and gritty. With the resurgence of vaudeville, they may already found”…read more

club-ubu_flyer-002.jpg“Voodoo Vaudeville is a rare thing… it brings the show into the audience and the audience into the show and gets away with it. We loved it.” Real Brighton Review 02/05/08

“A weird and wonderful introduction to all things festival-esque…The craziness continues into the night with music and dance performances from an eclectic mix of entertainers. From burlesque belly dancers to comedy puppetry there is something to tickle everyone’s fancy.”

A wild, wanton late night mix of extreme cabaret, music, sideshows and audience tomfoolery.  Following on from the success of last years nights we presented another fabulously perverse blend of vaudeville cabaret, dance and deviance performance created by the cast of Brighton’s legendary Voodoo Vaudeville with guest acts, Chris Lynam (9th) George Egg (10th), Franksanazi, belly dancer Hilde Canoodt and many more plus DJ Stylus.

2259680813_5951305854_m.jpgWe hosted a private party the other night, a very interesting concept, our client picked the acts he wanted I added the rest, decor, staging films etc and we then performed a mini voodoo show to a bunch of his friends who had come together to celebrate his 40th birthday. We directed all the attention to him, dedicated songs to him, made him join in the samba and generally took care of him all night, he got to spank Alice , pole dance with Katy the wicked librarian ask questions of Baby Warhol and dance to his favourite tunes. It was a riot !

clattkuwait.jpgFour intrepid percussionists flew to Kuwait to perform at an international event at the Arraya Ballroom, Kuwait City. This was a last minute booking but we made it, they bought the dustbins and we battered them when we got there!

“It has to be said - others play at vaudeville, but Voodoo Vaudeville play harder. This is the genuine article - classy, arsey, arty entertainment that’s hopefully coming to a town near you. So get out your glad rags, paint your face, put on your dancing shoes and join the party.”

“Mixing old-style German cabaret with more than a touch of the bizarre, Chris Cresswell and his team have, over the last five years, created a surreal and anarchic world of glamour, art and filth through this extraordinary show”.

“Voodoo Vaudeville is weird, wonderful and wacky. The evil master, his sexually ambiguous assistant, a time machine, saucy dance routines, an omnipotent Baby Warhol and plenty of audience participation. It’s not for the faint-hearted, but is simply good fun!”
Sangita Ladwa, BBC Southern Counties
